Size 9 (5.5Omm) 24″ circular needle, and double points.
Worsted Weight Yarn #4:
C1: Navy Blue
C3: Medium Grey
C4: Dark Grey
C5: Bright Green
Size 9 needles in Stockinette Stitch = 17 sts x 22 rounds per 4 inch square.
Finished size: 20 inch circumference X 11.5 inch height
To fit: Adult sizes 22 – 24 inch comfortably.
c = colour
k = knit
k2tog = knit two together
p = purl
st(s) = stitch(es)
Starting at the bottom edge and working in the round.
Using C1 and circular needle: long tail caston 84 sts, attach ends being careful not to twist. Mark beginning of round.
Rib pattern for 8 rounds: *K2,P1* ; repeat from *to* (84 sts)
knit one round, then begin Chart.
Work Chart from Bottom Right to Top Left, noting that it is worked in a 4 st repeat, then a 7 st repeat, ending with a 4 st repeat. 84 sts on total project accommodates this.
Using C1 and switching to double points as needed:
round 1: *k4, k2tog*; repeat from * to * around
round 2: knit
round 3: *k3, k2tog*; repeat from * to * around
round 4: knit
round 5 *k2, k2tog*; repeat from * to * around
round 6: knit
round 7: *k1, k2tog*; repeat from * to * around
round 8: knit
round 9: *k2tog*; repeat from * to * around
round 10: knit
round 11: *k2tog*; repeat from * to * around
round 12: knit, break yarn, pull end through remaining 7 sts and pull tight, weave in end.
Finish by weaving in all ends, block and enjoy!
